Looking for more information about the work that we do? This is a collection of all the questions we are asked most often, listed here for your convenience. If there is anything we didn’t cover, please let us know.

I'm new to reenacting, what should I do first?
Contact us directly so that we can connect you with a unit that specializes in you interest. Don't buy anything until you talk with the unit. They may have some loaner items and recommendations for the best sources of items that from reputable suppliers that meet authenticity standards. In the long run you will save money by buying the right item the first time. Many off the shelf reproduction items will benefit from improvements to increase their accuracy. More than likely most units will recommend that your first major purchase will be a good pair of accurate shoes.

What are the costs?
The single biggest expense will be the purchase of the required organizational clothing and equipment for your impression. Annual membership dues are set at $25/year with options for military, students and lifetime memberships. Member dues pay for the organization's insurance and expenses that benefit the entire organization. Some events may have an additional site fee that covers rental of that site and services provided there.

HOW ARE YOU FUNDED?
At PNW Great War, we are a non-profit educational organization dedicated to celebrating and preserving the history of World War I. Our goal is to educate and entertain the public with our living history presentations, which include authentic uniforms, equipment, and scenarios. We are funded entirely by member contributions and donations, which helps us carry out our group projects and keep history alive. Our team of dedicated volunteers are passionate about educating the public about the sacrifices made during WWI and highlighting the contributions of those who served.
