Pionier Bataillon Nr 6

The historic Pionier Bataillon Nr 6 was originally recruited in the Prussian province of Silesia.  On mobilization in August 1914 1.Reserve-Kompanie and 2.Reserve-Kompanie of Pionier Bataillon Nr 6 are listed as organic pioneer assets of the 12th Reserve Division of the Imperial German Army serving alongside Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment von Winterfeldt (2. Oberschlesisches) Nr.23.  By the time of the February 20th, 1918 order of battle for the 12th Reserve Division the unit had been replaced by Pionier-Bataillon Nr 312.
