Service Organizations in the Great War

PNW Great War is a living history organization that is passionate about educating people on the history and lessons of the Great War. We aim to provide an immersive experience to learn about the war's history and the significant roles performed by military and civilian humanitarian organizations such as the Red Cross and the Salvation Army.  Many of these roles were filled by hundreds of thousands of women who were mobilized by the warring nations.  Women performed many critical roles during the war ranging from working in munitions factories, to driving motorized ambulances, many paid the ultimate sacrifice for their service.  Our organization is dedicated to preserving the memory and sacrifices made during this pivotal time in history.

This page is dedicated to the memory of Winifred A. Mayberry (1877-1961), Nurse, US Army, WWI.  You are not forgotten.
